Dear Patients,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our commitment to keeping you safe remains of the utmost importance.

Infection control in our practice will always be our top priority, as you may have previously noticed during your visits to the office. We strive to maintain our infection control protocols to make you feel as safe and comfortable as possible. The infection control protocols we implement in our office are strictly governed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO). We will abide and implement up-to-date rulings or changes that may be issued by either the RCDSO or The Ministry of Public Health.

We are implementing extra precautions to ensure our patients' protection against the spread of COVID-19. Changes you may notice at your next dental appointment to help protect you and our staff are as follows:

  1. Our office will communicate with you prior to your appointment regarding screening questions, and you may be asked again once in the office.

  2. Patients who have screened or tested positive for Covid-19 must not be treated in person except as needed for emergency or urgent care that cannot delay.

  3. Our staff will kindly ask all patients to use hand sanitizer upon entering the office. You may also find hand sanitizer in the reception area for you to use as needed. You will also be required to wear a mask at all times while in the office.

  4. We have a designated staff member to check your temperature and pulse oximeter and will be screening for COVID-19 by using the screening questions developed by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

  5. Magazines and/or toys will no longer be available in the reception area for sanitary reasons.

  6. Our complimentary coffee and refreshment stand will be minimized to provide only water.

  7. You will ask to rinse 1%-15% hydrogen peroxide in the operatory before any treatment.

  8. Each reception area has plexiglass installed to practice social distancing and to ensure the safety of patients and staff members.

  9. We will be doing our best to reduce waiting time and to limit the number of patients in the reception area. We encourage patients to wait in their cars before scheduled appointments. You will be notified by a phone call or text when it is time to enter the office.

  10. Signage will appear throughout the office to remind staff and patients to comply with Public Health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  11. To ensure the safety of our staff and patients, our office will have a significant inventory of PPE. Staff members are required to follow strict office policies regarding PPE.

  12. A medical-grade Hepa-Rx filter (Surgically Clean Air) that meets and exceeds the guidelines for general surgery applications is located in the reception area and all operatories. This large capacity airflow management system filters and destroys all pollutants.

Our office is always available to answer any questions you may have to keep you, our staff, and patients safe. Please call our office to make an appointment. We look forward to seeing you again.
